The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a public notice warning Nigerians about a fraudulent website, pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com, which falsely claims that online voter registration is ongoing from September 28 to October 27, 2026. INEC stated that the platform has no affiliation with the commission and advised the public not to click on the link or provide personal information, as doing so could lead to data harvesting or misuse. The commission clarified that the voter registration exercise closed on July 26, 2026, and any information suggesting a new nationwide online registration is false.
