Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress presidential candidate, has called for the immediate suspension and eventual scrapping of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. His call follows the abduction of prospective corps members in Imo State. In a post on X on Saturday, Sowore said the recent abduction of young Nigerians travelling to their orientation camps exposed the dangers associated with the scheme. He did not provide further details on his proposal.
