President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to elder statesman and former Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Alani Ipoola Akinrinade (rtd), on his 87th birthday. In a statement issued by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described General Akinrinade as a gallant soldier and principled patriot who served Nigeria in various capacities, including as Chief of Defence Staff. He also noted Akinrinade's role as a leader of NADECO during the struggle for the restoration of June 12 and democracy. The President separately felicitated House member Kabir Bichi on his 45th birthday.
