The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a man identified as Zayyanu Halilu over the alleged rape and impregnation of a 12-year-old girl. The suspect was arrested on October 2, 2026, by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit on routine patrol around the Airport Bridge Taxi Park in Abuja. Police said officers became suspicious of a fully tinted navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with registration number KMC567LQ that was parked at the location with its windows wound up and the vehicle shaking. The FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the suspect was arrested while the victim was rescued, and preliminary investigation indicated he had allegedly lured and sexually abused the girl on several occasions in the same vehicle.
