Soyinka, others cheer as Asagba decorates Jibunoh with chieftaincy title

Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka and other dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond attended the conferment of the traditional title of Olinzele of Asaba on renowned environmentalist and businessman Chief Newton Jibunoh. The conferment was part of activities marking the 2nd Coronation Anniversary of the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN. It was the monarch's first chieftaincy conferment since ascending the throne in October 2024. The Asagba explained that he made an exception to his earlier position because he believes Jibunoh will add value and enrich the tradition and customs of Asaba.
