Benue community seeks FG’s intervention, says over 500 houses razed in Akpa

A community leader in Benue State, Arc. Patrick Ukura, has called on the Federal Government to intervene in the communal crisis between Akpa-Mbakor and Agasha, which has resulted in the destruction of over 500 houses in two months. Ukura, whose ancestral home and public utilities were destroyed, accused the Benue State Government of failing to protect rural dwellers. The clashes between the two communities in Guma Local Government Area have claimed several lives and caused property damage worth millions of Naira.
