US President Donald Trump has promised to give every adult American citizen $5,000 if Republicans win control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections. In a video posted on X, Trump said the payment would be funded by money generated through tariffs and strong economic performance under Republican leadership. He claimed the 'Trump dividend' is approximately $1 trillion, with $21 trillion invested in the country in the last 15 months. Trump contrasted the proposed payment with what he said would happen under Democratic leadership.
