2027 Polls: CSOs demand stringent action against vote-buying

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have identified vote-buying as a major problem that the Federal Government must tackle ahead of the 2027 general elections. At the 2026 National CSOs Summit in Abuja, representatives decried the repeated failure to prosecute individuals previously arrested for vote-buying. They said the electoral process would continue to be undermined unless stringent measures are adopted to ensure prosecution and conviction of offenders.
