David Robinson, who recently resigned from OpenAI, published an essay in The Atlantic on Saturday about AI safeguards. Robinson worked at OpenAI for three and a half years and ran transparency for the safety team, overseeing the company's "preparedness framework" and the writing of safety reports. He said he intends to "strengthen the incentives" for AI to develop at a safe pace and plans to help solve the problem from outside the company. His departure comes after OpenAI faced scrutiny over the Hugging Face hack.
