The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has criticized presidential candidates who support petrol subsidy, calling the policy financially unsustainable for Nigeria. He spoke at a breakfast meeting with media practitioners in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Lokpobiri questioned where the money for the subsidy would come from, noting that it is expected to come from the same oil sector. He criticized the positions of opposition presidential candidates who have expressed support for restoring the subsidy.
