Isa Pantami won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2027 Gombe State governorship race in a rerun primary held on Monday across all 11 local government areas. He polled 2,054 votes to defeat Khamisu Mailantarki, who scored 389, and Usman Garry, who managed 112. The rerun was ordered by the Federal High Court in Gombe after it nullified the initial primary held in May, which Pantami had won through voice affirmation. Pantami had previously sought the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the same race before withdrawing.
