The political dispute between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has intensified. Wike challenged Amaechi to account for the $39 million Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte Specialist Hospital, the N68 billion monorail project, and about N10 billion allegedly spent on an anti-malaria fumigation programme during his tenure. Wike issued the challenge while addressing members of the Uzugbani Ekpeye National Executive Council in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State. He also criticized Amaechi for blaming President Bola Tinubu's economic policies for his mother's death.
