The Kalabari people have commenced preparations for the Se Diye and coronation ceremonies of the Amanyanabo of the Source, Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I. A 16-unit Coronation Central Planning Committee was inaugurated on Saturday, October 3, at the Ipokuma residence in Degema Consulate. The ceremonies are scheduled for December 19, 2026. The committee, chaired by Chief Prince Tonye T.J.T. Princewill, was tasked with ensuring effective planning and coordination of activities to reflect the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and dignity of the Kalabari people.
