Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has summoned key stakeholders from Aguleri and Umuoba Anam communities in Anambra East Local Government Area for an emergency peace and security meeting following a renewed communal clash. A statement by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said the meeting would hold on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Government House, Awka, to address the root causes of the long-standing dispute and find a lasting resolution. The renewed clash reportedly resulted in loss of lives and property, prompting the state government to shut the popular Otuocha Market until further notice. Soludo expressed deep concern over the casualties and injuries recorded during the clash, stressing that violence, bloodshed and destruction of property had no place in Anambra State.
