Chief Kingsley Nweke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District, has described the district as 'bleeding' and called on journalists to remain courageous, professional, and uncompromising in reporting issues affecting the people. Nweke spoke on Sunday after a novelty football match between the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, and Nollywood actors at Ngwo Park, Achara Layout, Enugu. He said Enugu East needed a representative with the vision, capacity, and preparedness to deliver effective services to the people. Nweke also urged journalists to uphold their responsibility of holding political leaders and public institutions accountable, stressing that the media should not compromise its role because of political or financial considerations.
