The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has selected 'Dear Ajayi' as Nigeria's official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. Directed by Damilola Orimogunje, the 2026 film is set in 1990s Nigeria and follows two estranged sisters caring for their paralysed mother. It had its world premiere at the 23rd Giornate degli Autori, a sidebar of the Venice Film Festival. The film will be submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration.
