The Adamawa State Government has extended support to 200 patients and celebrated newborn babies in two major hospitals as part of activities marking Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary. The outreach, held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, covered the Adamawa State University Teaching Hospital and the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, with particular attention to patients in the paediatric and maternity wards. The initiative was designed to identify with patients, especially mothers and children, provide assistance to those receiving treatment, and celebrate babies born on Nigeria's Independence Day. Speaking to journalists after touring the wards, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Leader Leneke, said the government chose to commemorate the anniversary by reaching out to patients and families and sharing in their experiences.
