Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a vital instrument for promoting national unity, integration and peaceful coexistence among young Nigerians from diverse backgrounds. He made the remark on Friday, October 2, 2026, while addressing 1,428 corps members at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch C, Stream I Orientation Course at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area. Represented by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, Fintiri said the scheme offers young Nigerians a unique opportunity to understand the country's diversity, build lasting friendships and strengthen national consciousness. He urged the corps members to uphold patriotism, discipline, tolerance, hard work, selflessness and service to humanity throughout their one-year national service.
