The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Tuesday provide an update on preparations for the 2027 general election, as the country marks 100 days to the polls. The update will be given at a World Press Conference scheduled for October 6, 2026, alongside a National Stakeholders' Meeting in Abuja. According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the INEC Chairman, Adedayo Oketola, the briefing will focus on key aspects of preparations, including the voters' register, candidate nominations, logistics and measures to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
