Russia defeated Namibia 6-0 in a friendly match in Yekaterinburg ahead of their international friendly against Nigeria's Super Eagles in Nizhny Novgorod. Russia led 1-0 at half-time through Lechi Sadulaev's 37th-minute goal, then added five more goals in the second half. Danil Prutsev, Konstantin Tyukavin, Maksim Glushenkov, and Maksim Petrov scored, while Namibia's Kamaijanda Ndisiro scored an own goal. Meanwhile, 18 Super Eagles players were in training in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday under Head Coach Eric Chelle, who returned from 2027 AFCON qualifiers with a deflated ego after a loss to Guinea-Bissau.
