Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has called on African countries to develop football playing surfaces to global best standards. Speaking to NFF Media in Russia, the Venezia striker said a good pitch should be a minimum standard for African football, though he refused to use the poor pitch as an excuse for Nigeria's 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau. Adams stressed that as professionals, the Super Eagles should have anticipated low-quality pitches in some countries. He emphasized that players must be prepared for various circumstances including weather and refereeing.
