The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally made revolver along with other items during an intelligence-led operation in Akure. The suspects, identified as Isreal Abakah, 35, and Gbene Emmanuel, 37, were arrested on September 27 by operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit following credible intelligence. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly terrorising residents of Akure and neighbouring communities. They were apprehended at different locations within Akure metropolis, and a hideout in the Olufoam area was raided, where the revolver capable of holding four rounds of ammunition was recovered.
