Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State for the 2027 elections, has denied allegations raised by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. David Babachir Lawal. Lawal had accused Binani and other North-East NDC governorship candidates of working against the party's national interests after they rejected his self-proclaimed leadership in the zone. Responding through the Director of Media and Public Affairs for her Campaign Organisation, Mathias Yohanna, Binani dismissed the accusations and stated she would not be intimidated by indecent language or personal attacks. She clarified that her stance was the result of a democratically convened meeting of NDC gubernatorial candidates across the North-East, where a collective decision was made to recognize Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as the party's leader in the North.
