The Zamfara State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), has begun a house-to-house search for suspected diphtheria cases in Gusau Local Government Area. The exercise aims to strengthen early detection, prevent transmission, and ensure prompt referral for treatment. Health teams are educating residents on signs and symptoms of diphtheria. Suspected cases are being referred to designated treatment centres, including the Infectious Diseases Centre, Damba, and Primary Health Care, Kwata, where patients receive free healthcare.
