The Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue-SEMA) has deployed local divers to search for missing persons after a boat accident on River Katsina-Ala in Buruku Local Government Area. Mr Tema Ager, Head of Information Unit at Benue-SEMA, said the operation is challenging due to difficult river conditions and submerged motorcycles and other materials. So far, 125 passengers have been rescued, while more than nine others remain missing. Ager noted that the figures are provisional as authorities reconcile the number of people aboard the boat.
