A driver was killed in an aerial attack on aid trucks in South Kordofan, Sudan, early on Saturday. The contracted trucks were carrying World Food Programme (WFP) food commodities and were traveling between Dilling and Kadugli, clearly marked as humanitarian vehicles. Additional details about the incident and damage to the food cargo are still being determined. WFP called for a prompt and impartial investigation and for those responsible to be held accountable, noting that the attack came just one day after a WFP truck hit an explosive device in Dilling after delivering food assistance.
