The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has offered to provide flight data and cockpit voice recovery and readout support to the Nigerian Air Force following the crash of an ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ondo State. NSIB stated that investigation of the accident rests with the military authority because it involved a military aircraft. The bureau added that its Flight Safety Laboratory could be deployed to assist with the recovery and analysis of flight data and cockpit voice recordings should the Nigerian Air Force formally request its assistance. A statement signed by NSIB Director General Captain Alex Badeh Jr confirmed that NSIB received reports of the accident involving a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft on 5 October 2026.
