CNN CEO Mark Thompson will remain in his role as David Ellison's Skydance acquires Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN's parent company. The merger will place CNN and CBS News under common ownership. Thompson, who has led CNN since October 2023, told staff on Monday that he is staying, with the title of chairman and editor-in-chief.
