The Precision, Electrical and Related Equipment Senior Staff Association (PERESSA) has warned that insecurity, economic hardship, poor remuneration, and declining professional dignity are pushing Nigerian teachers to the brink. In a statement marking World Teachers' Day, PERESSA's National President, Rufus Olusesan, said the celebration should go beyond speeches to address harsh conditions. The association described teaching as a noble profession currently gasping for breath under multiple pressures.
