The Sokoto State Government has dismissed as false a report alleging the abduction of 18 students from Gamji College of Health Technology, Sokoto. In a statement issued on Monday by Abubakar Bawa, Director-General of Media and Publicity, the government said no student of the institution was kidnapped. The clarification followed a report by Sahara Reporters claiming that the students were travelling in a chartered bus from Sokoto to Oyo State when they were intercepted and abducted by suspected terrorists. The government urged the public to disregard the report, describing it as false and without basis.
