Meta Platforms and Microsoft, two of Anthropic's largest corporate customers, are actively working to reduce their employees' use of Anthropic's Claude AI. Microsoft had projected spending at least $1 billion on internal use of Anthropic's technology earlier this year, but has since lowered that figure by more than a third after asking staff to use less Claude to save costs and increase use of Microsoft's own AI tools. The spending figure does not include customer spending on Anthropic models through Microsoft's tools, which has risen steadily.
