The Kwara State Police Command intercepted a suspected arms shipment in Ilorin, recovering two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, and 42 rounds of live ammunition from a commercial vehicle. The recovery was made during a stop-and-search operation along the Alapa–Okolowo axis, where the firearms were found concealed in a bag. A 30-year-old passenger, identified as Umaru M., initially denied ownership but later admitted to conveying the items during interrogation. His statement led investigators to a suspected gun-running link involving two other persons, including one Dan Yarubawa.
