The Yobe State chapter of the African Democratic Congress said it refunded N1 million allegedly paid to one of its members after a meeting of the Inter-Party Advisory Council concerning the recently concluded local government elections in the state. The party said the money was deposited into the account of an individual who attended the September 22, 2026 meeting at the office of the Special Adviser to the Yobe State Government on Inter-Party Affairs, Abdu Mamman Zoto. In a statement signed by State Secretary Mamu Alhaji Muhammad, the party said its representative was not authorised by its leadership to attend, and that its Disciplinary Committee investigated the matter and compelled the individual to return the money.
