Residents of Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, have recounted how a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft crashed into a swamp on Monday. They reported seeing aircraft parts, clothes, and suspected human remains scattered around the crash site. The aircraft went down in a waterlogged area shortly after 10am, and the difficult terrain and depth of the swamp hindered rescue efforts. A newly-wed pilot is feared dead among the 32 people on board, and President Tinubu has mourned the victims and ordered an investigation.
