Tinubu Declares 3-day Mourning as 32 Die in Military Plane Crash

President Bola Tinubu has declared a three-day national mourning period and ordered an investigation into the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 jet crash that killed 32 passengers near a naval base in Igbokoda, Ondo State. Flags are to be flown at half-mast nationwide. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, pledged the ministry's full cooperation in search and rescue efforts. The Defence Minister, Senate Committee, and other officials have expressed condolences, while the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) also extended their sympathies. Ondo State Governor Aiyedatiwa has ordered full support for rescue operations.
