Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has attributed the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda to a possible technical or mechanical fault, rather than bad weather. The ATR-42 aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed in a swampy area opposite the Naval Base in Igbokoda. The Nigerian Air Force has initiated a search-and-rescue operation. Aiyedatiwa made these remarks during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today.
