The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will begin nationwide collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on October 9, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced the date on Monday. The commission has concluded the three-phase Continuous Voter Registration exercise and completed the final Automated Biometric Identification System process. Voters are advised to check their voter status before the collection period.
