The Foundation for Digital Justice and Sustainable Development has filed a case at the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged restrictions imposed by TikTok on users in parts of Northern Nigeria. The suit claims that TikTok restricted or geoblocked users in Kaduna, Kebbi, Kano, and Sokoto states. The foundation, through its counsel Festus Ogun, is asking the court to determine whether the restriction violated the constitutional right to freedom of expression and amounted to discrimination. The suit was brought pursuant to Sections 39, 42, 45, and 46 of the 1999 Constitution and other relevant laws.
