Donald Duke, the Peoples Redemption Party presidential candidate and former governor of Cross River State, warned that Nigeria's economic and security challenges leave no room for experimental leadership. He said anyone seeking to govern the country should be rigorously interrogated on experience, capacity, record, and intended actions. Duke stated that Nigeria is already in a disaster but maintained it is repairable with a change in direction. He cited his record as governor from 1999 to 2007 as evidence that governments can deliver.
