The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on the Federal Government to promptly release the remaining part of its budget to ensure a seamless 2027 general election. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash O. Amupitan, made the appeal during a World Press Conference and National Stakeholders' Meeting in Abuja, marking 100 days to the first ballot. He noted that the Federal Government has maintained its commitment to democratic governance through timely release of statutory allocations, which have enabled INEC to meet international vendor obligations. INEC also plans to deploy 1,414,768 ad hoc staff and use artificial intelligence during the election.
