The Igbo National Council Worldwide (INC) has condemned the abduction of prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members at Umunoha, Mbaitoli local council area of Imo State, on October 1, 2026. INC President Mr. Chilos Godsent expressed solidarity with the victims' families and called for their safe, unconditional, and immediate rescue. The group urged security agencies to sustain search-and-rescue operations until all victims are recovered and to strengthen intelligence gathering and surveillance around Umunoha and adjoining communities. INC also called for engagement with traditional rulers, community leaders, and credible local security structures.
