The Ondo State Police Command has said it is awaiting heavy-duty equipment to recover the wreckage of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft that crashed in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area. The state Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, disclosed this after visiting the crash site, noting that the swampy terrain, creeks, and mangroves made recovery efforts difficult. He said some body parts and aircraft fragments had been recovered, and that bigger equipment capable of pulling the submerged aircraft from the swamp was expected. Ohagwu added that recovery was still in progress pending the conclusion of investigations by relevant agencies.
