UEFA has opened an investigation into a tunnel bust-up during the Nations League game between the Republic of Ireland and Israel in Serbia. The incident occurred at half-time in the 1-1 draw in Backa Topola, with reports alleging that a member of the Republic of Ireland coaching staff was spat at by an Israel player. Republic of Ireland head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson confirmed there was a fracas but declined to comment further. UEFA has appointed an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to conduct the investigation into potential misconduct by player(s).
