President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a significant reduction in Nigeria's dependence on crude oil revenues, indicating a shift toward a diversified economy. He stated that his administration has built a diversified, high-growth economy by unlocking the potential of agriculture, manufacturing, and the digital and creative industries. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday during the fifth anniversary of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, noted that oil production is now steadier and stronger due to joint efforts by security agencies, operators, host communities, and the Commission. He added that investors who previously abandoned Nigeria are now returning, making the country a leading destination for upstream investment in Africa.
