Kenya has confirmed its first imported case of Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD), according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). The patient died after travelling from the Democratic Republic of the Congo through Uganda to Nairobi. The Kenyan government has activated measures to prevent further transmission, including case investigation and contact tracing.
