A report by GSMA highlights that Nigeria's digital economy lacks strong female participation, with only 35% of women using mobile internet compared to 52% of men. Factors such as the cost of data and smartphones, as well as a lack of digital skills, contribute to the exclusion of women. Additionally, only 14.8% of rural females have internet access, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
