A Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, 2026, while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos. All 25 people on board, including 20 passengers and five crew members, were killed. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Aviation Minister initially reported 32 people on board.
