Nigeria's food system is under increasing pressure from climate change, with erratic rainfall, prolonged dry spells, flooding, rising temperatures, and pest and disease outbreaks disrupting farming and causing billions of Naira in losses. Farmers and agricultural experts told Vanguard Agrobiz that these challenges are deterring investment in food production, as farmers, agribusinesses, and financial institutions become more cautious about funding a weather-dependent sector.
