Edo: ADC candidate, Imansuagbon escape gun attack

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Edo Central Senatorial District, Herberta Okonofua, and party chieftain Kenneth Imansuagbon escaped unhurt when gunmen attacked their convoy in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State on Tuesday. The ADC alleged that the attackers were loyalists of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the Igueben Local Government Council Chairman, Endurance Azemegbe. Azemegbe denied involvement, stating he was not in Igueben during the shooting. An ADC supporter, Jerry Oliha, was wounded and taken to Irrua Specialist Hospital for treatment.
