The Red Cross and the Nursing Council have collaborated to develop a violence de-escalation course. According to Matthews, the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course will complement existing work with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to strengthen the protection of healthcare within nursing education. The course aims to translate foundational knowledge into practical skills for nurses. The initiative is part of efforts to enhance safety in healthcare settings.
